Showery bursts of rain, becoming drier for most this evening
Good morning,
As we draw breath after Storm Frank, the final day of 2015 is likely to be a drier one overall. That's not to say completely dry as a band of showery, briefly heavy rain will pass eastwards. It crosses Ireland this morning, into southwest Scotland, Wales and southwest England by midday, and then passes east through Scotland and the rest of England during this afternoon and early evening.
The rain will have cleared by this evening leaving a dry night, almost perfect for those end of year celebrations. Heavy showers affecting western Scotland and western Ireland, some snow on the hills here.
New Years Day is likely to be colder and mostly dry for all. Some rain and strong winds arriving in the southwest later in the day.
