Some rain in west
Dry for many

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 31st December 2014
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Mild for most this evening

Good morning, Well, here we go then, the last day of 2014. And what a year t has been weather wise; floods and gales to start and then mild throughout the year. Although, it's not mild in the south this morning, the emphasis is for the weather to turn milder for most over the coming days.

Today brings stronger winds and some rain to northern and western parts of Scotland and Ireland. Much of England and Wales as well as eastern Scotland should be dry. Further drizzle and some rain in the north and west this afternoon.

Tonight stays mostly dry through England and Wales for your New Year celebrations, although Hogmanay may be a little damp in Scotland.

Have a great day and keep the sun shining!
