A wet Christmas Day as rain spreads north, but colder and drier in northern Scotland
Good morning,
And a very Happy Christmas! It's a bit of a wet one in the far south of the country this morning, but for the northern two thirds things are a little chillier. A few snow showers over the highest hills of Scotland, but these fading through today.
Travelling in the Midlands, southern England, East Anglia, Wales and Ireland will become an increasingly wet affair as we head into this afternoon. The rain becoming heavy at times especially in the west. The rain reaches northern England and Northern Ireland through the afternoon and evening and once set in may well not stop throughout the night.
Wet again in northern England and southern Scotland as well as Northern Ireland on Boxing Day, a risk of flooding here. Drier and milder to the south, colder and drier to the north. Have a wonderful, peaceful day.
