Okay for reindeer, rain passing east and then turning cooler with a few wintry showers
It's nearly here! Yes, this time tomorrow the waiting will be over and we'll know what Santa has bought. Let's hope there's an umbrella or two left under the tree because things are going to become very wet for some through Christmas. Unfortunately this may cause some flooding problems in northwest England, parts of Wales and the Midlands, so stayed in touch with the forecasts here at Weatheronline for the latest warnings as they are issued.
Todays sees a cold front passing east. It has blustery winds and some heavy bursts of rain associated with it. This should clear eastern coasts by midday, to be followed by cooler weather. Showers will be blowing in with the cooler weather, these turning to snow over the hills of Scotland, northern England and Wales.
If you are planning on heading out this evening then it should be dry, clear and chilly for all, and a little breezy too. Further wintry showers in Scotland. However, we are hopeful that father Christmas and the reindeer should have no problems landing and so children (and adults) can sleep soundly!
