Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 26th December 2015 Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson
Dry south & east
Good morning,
Prolonged rainfall in north-western Britain brings the threat of renewed flooding across Cumbria, the western Pennines and also north Wales. Total rain over 36 hours may well reach over 100mm over the hills.
Scotland too will see a wet day, whilst strong easterly winds will make it feel bitter in the far north, with snow over the northern Highlands. Temperatures 5 to 8C for Scotland.
Across the Midlands, south and east, it remains largely dry, although cloudy, with strong south-westerly winds. However it will be very mild, highs 13 or 14C.
Have a great day. Garry
