Rain north and west, dry south and east, windy for all
Rain over western Scotland and northwest England this morning will be tracking northeastwards, although eastern Scotland probably stays dry. Windy too. It remains damp in western Scotland and western Ireland throughout this afternoon, the rain eventually returning to northwest England too where it will become more persistent and possibly heavy this evening.
For the rest of England and Wales it is likely to be a breezy but mostly dry day. There could be some drizzle in west Wales and over the moors of southwest England. Brighter to the east at times this afternoon, perhaps even with a few sunny spells. Feeling mild.
A band of rain spreading southwards tonight, lying through southwest England, Wales, the Midlands and the south of northern England by morning. Fresher, showery weather follows, with most showers in northern and western Scotland as well as western Ireland.
