Morning Call - December 19, 2015
Another very mild day
Strong southerly winds

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 19th December 2015
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Wet in west & north, drier south & east

Good morning,

After a night of exceptionally mild temperatures, it remains an unseasonably warm day for many areas today, all thanks to strong southerly winds.

A slow moving front brings persistent rain to western regions, setting in over many hours, giving some sustained heavy bursts and risk of local flooding. Largely dry throughout daylight across the Midlands, south & east, with a little sun for some.

Rain advances north & east tonight, but will be very patchy across central and eastern England. Southerly winds will reach gale force around western coasts and hills, gusting 60mph in exposed areas tonight.

Temperatures will be widely 12 to 15C, and due to local foehn effects, a few favoured spots may be close to 16 or 17C.

Have a great day.
Garry
