Wet west but drier east and north

Good morning,

A wet morning through Wales and northern England as well as parts of the Midlands. The rain band easing further north into the far north of England as the morning progresses. Dry for the rest of southern England and Wales, although rather cloudy and becoming breezy this afternoon. Drier in Scotland too with a fair amount of cloud, but some rain in the far northwest.

This afternoon sees the threat of some heavier rain in eastern Ireland and western Wales as well as parts of northwest England. This is going to be heightening the flooding problems across west Wales. Becoming increasingly windy for England and Wales. Turning wet through the evening in the Midlands and then eventually eastern England too. Heavy rain reaching southern Scotland for a time, but overall drier in Scotland with broken cloud.

The rain and strong winds clear east tonight with drier weather then following from the west.
