Morning Call - December 05, 2015
Widespread gales
Prolonged rain in north-west

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 5th December 2015
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Mild temperatures

Good morning,

It is a turbulent day for many of you today, with extensive south-westerly gales across Britain and Ireland. Gusts over 50mph even well inland, and locally 70mph exposed coasts and hills.

Expect possible disruption to travel, particularly over higher level routes and exposed bridges. Localised damage to trees and buildings is also possible.

In addition, prolonged rainfall will affect western regions, particularly over the hills of the Lake District and south-west Scotland, and may also extend to north Wales. Risk of flooding.

Elsewhere, rainfall amounts likely very small, but it will be widely overcast, and patches of drizzle may occur almost anywhere. At very least, it will be very mild, top temperatures 10 to 13C.

Have a great day.
Garry
