Mild, wet and windy

Good morning,

It's a wet and mild one out there this morning for many northern and western areas. It is going to be windy with some gales over western and northern coasts and hills. The rain is heavy in western Scotland and parts of northwest England and Wales. Drier in the east and south, although there will be drizzle and patchy rain in the far south of England.

Staying wet in Wales, central and southwest England this afternoon and that could trigger some localised flooding in more western parts. At the same time drier conditions follow through Scotland, northwest England and Ireland, although always some showers for western Scotland and Ireland.

Bands of showers then passing eastwards over all areas during the night, with more persistent rain clearing the southeast before midnight.
