Rain in the west edging slowly eastwards and fragmenting

Good morning,

A fair morning in central and eastern parts of England at first this morning. There will be some bright or even sunny spells. Thicker cloud and a band of showery rain in western Scotland and the far west of Wales as well as southwest England. Drier for Ireland and rather cloudy here.
 

The band of rain fragments as it moves eastwards this afternoon, although there will still be outbreaks of rain across northern and central England. Drier for Scotland, a few bright spells in the east, but showers to the west. Scattered showers in Ireland.

Staying very mild for all.
