Duty forecaster: Filotas Paschos

A band of heavy rain spreads east, along with strong winds

Through the morning outbreaks of light rain are expected across England, however this will clear soon. Elsewhere the day will start fairly dry and bright with some sunny spells across Scotland, these extending south through the afternoon. A few showers are possible here and there, but these will become more frequent across Hebrides and Northwest Scotland. Breezy in north but light winds elsewhere, with the maximum temperature at 6C in north but 8C in south.

Showers and strong wind will continue in the northwest of Scotland otherwise the evening and night will be mostly dry with clear spells elsewhere. As winds will get lighter over southeast England, there is a risk of fog in places as well as frosty patches. Temperatures dropping to 2C in south, but milder due to the wind in north at 4C.
