Morning Call - December 09, 2023
A wet day for most
Strong winds and heavy rain

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 8th December 2023
Duty forecaster: Filotas Paschos

A band of heavy rain spreads east, along with strong winds

The day will start cloudy and wet across most parts of the country, with rain being heavy in places this mostly across England and Wales. Through the morning and into the afternoon, rain will clear away from Scotland away with some drier and brighter spells following.

Showers will develop later in west and spread further across Scotland and northwest England, with the heaviest access Northern Ireland, Wales and Southwest Scotland. Across Inverness-hire, Nairn, Moray, and northern Aberdeenshire we should expect the driest of the conditions. It will be windy in south and west, while Scotland will see only fresh winds. Temperature will rise up to 9C in north but locally up to 12C in south.

As higher pressure will build in from the west, most showers will die away with drier conditions following for most with clear spells. Minimum temperature at 6C in north and 9C in south.
