A dry generally fine start to the morning for all of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England. Overnight frost and fog will be slow to clear, so where persisting temperatures will be slow to rise and reach 0C briefly early afternoon.Fpg and frost will return again soon after sunset, frost then becoming widespread and severe with minimum temperatures -8C. Where fog and frost does clear, in Midlands, Wales and southern England temperatures will briely rise to 3C during the afternoon and then fall quickly after sunset into the evening. With mainly fresh onshore southwest winds, western coasts will have a mix of sunny spells and showers mostly of rain but also snow being prolonged and occassionaly heavy, temperatures 4-6C. Likewise for North Sea coasts there will be frequent snow and rain showers, temperatures 4-6C. Dry for most inland areas with fog and frost returning becoming locally severe in Cheshire, Welsh Marches, south Midlands to Hampshire and Vale of York, overnight
