Rain and showers for many, drier tonight with a frost in Scotland

Wet this morning through southern Scotland and northern England. Rain also over eastern coasts but this soon clearing into the North SEa. Drier in northern Scotland and cloudy. Cloudy and drier in central areas of England and eastern Wales. Heavy showers in western Wales and showers running into southern coasts of England as well. Much of Ireland should be dry and cloudy although some rain in the far north.

This afternoon sees heavy showers in the Midlands and southern England as well as Wales. Rain for southern and eastern Scotland. Further heavy showers in Wales and along southern coasts of England. Scattered showers for Ireland and dry in the west of Scotland with the best sunshine in the northwest.

Overnight rain continues in northeast England and eastern Scotland at first, slowly easing, although further rain and showers affecting the coasts of northeast England and parts of the eastern Midlands throughout. Windy in many central and eastern parts of England. Turning drier and clearer for most of Scotland, Ireland and Wales as well as southwest England. Frosty in Scotland but milder elsewhere due to the breeze.
