A cold frosty start, but milder with rain and strong winds later

It will be a dry and bright start to the day for most with some sunny spells across Aberdeenshire, Northeast England, East Anglia and Kent. Cloudier with strengthening winds and some light rain over Northern Ireland, as a band of rain edges the British Isles from the west.

Thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain arriving over Northern Ireland, Wales and southwest England later in the afternoon, this spreading east through the evening with some snow expected over the hills in Northern England and Scotland with a few centimeters added to the already existed snow. Winds strengthening in west through the day reaching gale force in exposure. Lighter elsewhere Temperature will reach 8C in Northern Ireland, but up to 5C elsewhere.

Rain and hill snow spreading east through the evening, with the drier condition expected over Moray and the Northern Isles. Fresh to strong winds. A milder night than of late with the minimum temperature at 5C to 7C for most.
