A cloudy wet day for Scotland with rain prolonged through the morning through western Isles, Highland to Aberdeenshire later into Dumfries and Galloway, later moving into N.Ireland through the afternoon and into the evening. Temperatures 6-8C with a fresh west to northwest wind, gales on windward westerly coasts and headlands. Northern England reamining cloudy with outbreaks of rain for Cumbria and Northumbria into Yorkshire temperatures 8 to 10C, slightly higher to lee of higher ground and with shelter. Remainder of England and Wales mainly dry with some sunshine for Shropshire to Oxfordshire, across Hampshire and eastwards to Kent, temperatures 8 to 10C briefly 12C further east to the lee of higher ground. Winds fresh west to northwest. For evening and overnight rain moving into N.Ireland, north Wales, Cumbria and Cheshire, showers for eastern Scotland and northeast England Mainly dry for remainder of England and Wales with broken cloud and clear spells, temperatures 6 to 8C.
