A cloudy and generally dull day for most, Showers mostly of rain will be frequent through the morning for Western Isles, Highland to Dumfries and Galloway, into Cumbria, Lancashire and Cheshire. Showers also for Gwynedd and Clwyd to coastal Dyfed, showers often heavy and blustery especially near windward coasts with a fresh west to northwest wind, temperatures 6 to 9C. Snow showers likely with height. A mix of sunshine and scattered showers for Midlands and eastern England, temperatures 6C to 8C, higher with shelter to the lee of higher ground. Remainder of England to southern counties generally dry and sunny with temperatures 8C to 10C. With exception of northwest Scotland where showers will continue into the evening and early night, the evening and night will be dry with variable cloud, temperatures 4 to 6C. Staying windy overnight so frost free.
