A cold day with some rain and hill snow in places

The day starts cloudy with some outbreaks of rain across southeast England, this clearing to the east by midday. Any remaining snow across eastern counties of England will soon clear to the east. Elsewhere the weather will start frosty and continue dry through the day with some brightness and sunny spells especially across Scotland and Northern England.

It will be gradually become cloudier from the southwest as a band of rain will reach Cornwall and Devon by late afternoon this spreading northeast through the evening. This rain may be preceded by hill snow across north Wales and west Midland for a time before turn into rain. Light winds for most through the day, but for the southwest where wind will strengthening in the evening. Temperature will reach 2C in north, but it will be milder in south with 8C to 9C.

Through the evening rain is expected in south, this heavy across coastal counties of England, while some showers are possible elsewhere across coastal areas. It will be mostly dry further inland across Scotland, and Northern England and Northern Ireland with some frost developing in sheltered areas. Winds will remain strong across much of England with possible coastal gales in south. Temperature will drop to Zero to 3C in north, but it will be milder in the south with 6C.
