Milder and unsettled, severe gales and heavy rain on some days

Milder weather will be arriving to all areas this week, although it may take a few days to reach all. It is going to be increasingly windy and wet too with a risk of severe gales. There is a flooding risk on Thursday although details are unclear at the present time.

Wednesday 6/12/23
Fronts pushing east on Wednesday bringing rain to Ireland. Winds increasing here too and the rain will be turning heavy in the south. A fair start for the United Kingdom but cloud increasing in the west. This will bring rain to Wales and southwest England in the afternoon as the wind strengthen here too. Plenty of sunshine in the afternoon for eastern Scotland and northeast England. Tops at 5C in the east, 14C in the far southwest of England.

Thursday 7/12/23
A windy day with low pressure dominating on Thursday. rain could be heavy, passing east through all areas. Gales may become severe too. A risk of flooding in places. Highs at 8 to 12C.



 
 
 

Friday 8/12/23
Another area of low pressure moves into southern Ireland on Friday. Windy for al with rain afacting much of northern and eastern Scotland. Heavy showers, some thundery and with loger spells of rain for most of Ireland, Wales, western and southern England, Fewer showers in the east. Highs near 8 to 13C.


 

Saturday 9/12/23
Some mist and fog patches at first on Saturday morning. Cloud and rain as well as windy weather for Ireland and the far west of the UK. Some bright spells developing in the east with lighter winds here. Highs at 7 to 12C.

Sunday 10/12/23
The low pressure is expected to be close to Scotland on Sunday. A windy day with some heavy rain in Scotland, a risk of snow over the tops of hills. For England and Wales as well as Ireland it is windy but brighter with sunshine and showers. The showers heavy and thundery at times, especially in the west. Highs at 6 to 11C.

Monday 11/12/23
Monday may be wet in southern areas of England. Some cloud and rain affecting parts of southern Scotland too. Other areas may see a fair amount of cloud and a few bright spells. Tops at 11C in the south, a chilly 3C in northern Scotland.
