Monday 18/12/2023
Cloudy for all of Scotland with prolonged, often heavy rain for Western Isles, Highland to Dumfries and Galloway strong west to southwaset winds with gales along western coasts and with height, temperatures 6 to 8C generally, nearer 3C with height and snow likely, high windchill. Rain into Northern Ireland during the afternoon with gales on coasts. For remainder of England and Wales, generally mild though cloudy and windy with fresh to strong sothwest winds, temperatures 10 to 12C briefly during the afternoon, likely 14-16C in Clywd and Cheshire also Yorkshire and Northumbria to the lee of high ground. Cloudy for northern England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland overnight with rain becoming heavy and prolonged especially windward coasts and slopes in a strong west to southwest wind. Temperatures overnight 4-6C in Scotland as rain and cloud clear to 10C for England and Wales.

Staying unsettled an area of prolonged and often heavy rain will moves southeastwards from southern Scotland through the morning, into northern England and Wales during the afternoon, into the Midllands and Eastern England by evening wil become lighter and patchy for southwest, central south and southeast England overnight. This will bring into northern Scotland much colder Arctic air giving snow showers and a widespread frost overnight temperatures -3C. England and Wales will become drier and colder overnight with temperaures 3-5C. Winds will veer northwest decreasing over southwest and southern England though remaining fresh over northeast Scotland and along North Sea coasts.


Wednesday 20/12/2023
Cloudy for Scotland and into Northern Ireland with outbreaks of often prolonged and heavy rain though the morning moving into western areas during the morning, across central regions into the afternoon with periods of snow especially with height, later into eastern Scotland and northeast England during the evening, temperatures 3C in Scotland to 7C for northeast England with a fresh northwest wind and high windchill. For the remainder of England and Wales cloudy though mainly dry, likely sunny spells far southeast and central south England, temperatures 8C.

Cloudy and windy for all areas. Outbreaks of rain for Scotland with gales along western coasts. England and Wales dry though mainly cloudy temperatures 6C for Scotland to 10C southern England. A windy day across all areas.


Friday 22/12/2023
Cloudy for western Scotland and later remainder of Scotland with outbreaks of rain and some snow with height, temperarues 1 to 3C generally 5 to 7 along western coasts. England and Wales mainly dry though cloudy, patchy rain on northern Welsh coasts and southwest England. Remaining windy with a fresh west wind, though with gales likely across northeast Scotland.
