Sunday 17/12/23
Much of the country remaining fairly dry but rather cloudy, with any chance of sunny spells across southeast England. A wet day over west Scotland with rain becoming heavy and persistent for much of the day. Through the evening this rain will gradually push over northwest England and clear away soon. Northern Ireland will have occasional light rain or drizzle. Still windy in north and west, with coastal gales. Another mild day with temperature rising up to 10C-12C across most parts.

Monday 18/12/23
A mixed day for most with thick cloud at times and outbreak of mostly light rain, this mostly over Wales and northwest England. Best of the drier and possible brighter weather in far eastern parts of England. Later in the evening more rain will spread east mostly over Northern Ireland, southern Scotland, Wales and northwest England. A breezy day for most, but strong winds for the northwest. Temperature will rise up to 10-12C, possibly reaching 13C in southeast England.

Tuesday 19/12/23
A mostly cloudy day with outbreaks of rain, this mostly expected over England and Wales and possible being heavy at times. Further north a much drier start to the day, but soon blustery showers will follow. These will be more frequent and heavy over northwest Scotland, and due to colder air coming from the northwest, we will see some snow over higher ground. A rumble of thunder is possible over Scotland and Northern Ireland too. Winds will turn northwesterly with falling temperatures, and maximums of 5C in north but still 10C in far south.

Wednesday 20/12/23
A showery day for most, with showers more frequent and blustery across north Scotland where there is a risk for thunderstorms too. Showers may be wintry even down to lower levels over Scotland. Showers will merge into a longer spells of rain over Northern Ireland, England and Wales. The best of the drier weather is expected over southeast England. Windy with tops of 5C in north but 9C in south.

Thursday 21/12/23
The predictability is still quite low from Thursday onwards, it seems that a low pressure system will quickly cross the country to the southeast bringing some heavy rain in places. Once this clear, blustery showers will follow with a risk these to turn wintry even down to very low levels in north and west. It will be windy with gales for most parts, bringing potentially blizzard conditions over high ground in north. Colder than of late with temperatures up to 5C in north, and 7C in south.
