Unsettled conditions as a series of lows settle in for the long haul

Classic unsettled autumnal conditions are on the cards for the next few days with temperatures slowly dropping off as the season progresses.

Tuesday 24/10/23
A low-pressure system over Northern England will bring unsettled conditions and rain, with moderate totals expected over the Pennines, Northeast England, and Eastern Scotland, accompanied by strong winds along eastern coasts. The day will be mostly cloudy with a few light outbreaks of rain along southern and western coasts. Highs are expected to reach 10 to 15C.

Wednesday 25/10/23
The day will be mostly cloudy with light showers in England and Wales. Heavier rain is set to move into Ireland and Southwest England later. The best chance for any bright spells and the driest conditions will be in Scotland. Strong to near gale-force winds are expected to develop along western and southern coasts. Highs are forecasted to range from 10C to 16C.

Thursday 26/10/23
The weather will remain unsettled with low pressure moving across Southern England, bringing strong to gale-force winds along exposed coasts. Rainfall and showers are expected for most, with the possibility of surface water flooding in Southern England and Wales. Highs are expected to be between 11C and 15C.


 

Friday 27/10/23
Low pressure will continue to dominate the weather, resulting in mostly cloudy skies with showers or longer periods of rain. It will be slightly cooler, with highs ranging from 10C to 13C.

Saturday 28/10/23
Low pressure will continue to dominate, leading to mostly cloudy conditions with showers likely, although there will be sunny spells at times. Highs are anticipated to be around 10°C to 13°C.

Sunday 29/10/23
There will be hints of slightly drier and brighter conditions with a few showers mainly affecting western areas. Highs are expected to reach 10C to 13C.
