Very warm south, colder north.

Fair and unseasonably warm weather in much of England and Wales in the coming days. Heavy rain in Scotland continues this weekend with flooding alerts out here. Turning colder from Wednesday in the north and then all areas from Thursday. A wet day come Friday for many before perhaps a more settled following weekend.

Low pressure over Iceland on Tuesday will bring blustery winds and outbreaks of rain to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Less windy elsewhere and dry with sunny spells. Highs at 15 to 24C.

Wednesday 11/10/23
A cold front moves south on Wednesday bringing spells of rain, heavy for a time as it passes through southern Scotland into northern England, Ireland and Wales, then moving towards southern England through the afternoon. Clearing to the north with brighter, drier and cooler weather. Southeast England staying dry until evening. Highs at 16 to 23C in the south, a cooler 9 to 12C further north.

Thursday 12/10/23
A wet very early morning on Thursday across southeast England before the rain soon clears here. High pressure ridges in elsewhere bringing a dry day, bright but comparatively cooler. A few showers in northern Scotland. Highs at 11 to 17C.

Friday 13/10/23
Friday now shows an area of low pressure push across Wales, Ireland and England clearing form the south and west through the day. Much of Scotland and Northern Ireland are dry with sunny spells. Highs at 11 to 18C.

Saturday 14/10/23
A ridge of high pressure extends north across England and Wales on Saturday. Fair overall with good spells of sunshine and dry too. However, a few showers could affect the far north of Scotland. Highs at 10 to 17C.

Sunday 15/10/23
On Sunday a front will bring patchy rain across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Largely dry and fine further south. Highs at 12 to 16C.
