Milder air makes a comeback as the week progresses
Largely dry up until midweek for most when rain and winds move in. A cold first half of the week for many with frosty starts for some, then a relative milder flow moves in with the unsettled conditions later in the week. Currently a mixed following weekend.

Wednesday 18/10/23 Rain will be moving up from the southwest on Wednesday with spells of heavy rain across parts of England and Wales. Drier through Northern Ireland and northern Scotland. Strengthened southerly winds also with gales expected in places. Highs will be in the range of 10 to 15C.
Thursday 19/10/23 A drier day across much of England though still rather cloudy with some patchy drizzle about. Heavier rain expected further north with patchy rain also affecting Northern Ireland. Less windy though gales across the far north of Scotland. Highs will range from 9 to 17C.
Friday 20/10/23 Friday is again unsettled with periods of occasionally heavy rain across England and Scotland. It will remain windy along eastern coasts, with the best chance of any brightness across western and southwestern areas. Highs will be in the range of 10 to 17C.
Saturday 21/10/23 Low pressure is to the west of Scotland on Saturday. Cloudy and wet across much of Scotland and Northern Ireland where it will also be windy. Northern parts of England also expected for many. Drier through the rest of England and much of Wales where there will be some developing sunny spells. Highs at 8 to 16C.
Sunday 22/10/23 Starting off largely dry with sunny spells, though patchy rain soon pushes up from the south. Rain should clear much of southwestern areas heading into the afternoon. Best of the lasting sunshine across northern Scotland. Highs at 9 to 14C.
Monday 23/10/23 Low pressure close by on Monday will again give a rather mixed day. Cloudy skies for many with some patchy rain, though mostly light. Highs at 10 to 15C.
