For the weather for the next few days click here
Friday 20/10/23 A very wet day for some on Friday, with spells of rain especially in the north and east, heavy and prolonged spells likely in places here. Where it remains dry, it will remain mostly cloudy with limited brightness as further spells of rain develop across southern England and Wales during the afternoon with a strong breeze for many areas, possibly gale force in northeast Scotland and northern England. A mild day with highs of 11 to 16C.
Saturday 21/10/23 Rain at this stage looks likely to be confined to western areas during Saturday with a drier but breezy day across eastern England and northeast Scotland, albeit not as windy as Friday. Staying mostly cloudy for many and possibly misty along the coasts with some light rain or drizzle. More persistent rain in Ireland and western Scotland, although mostly light and patchy in nature. Temperatures of 11 to 17C north to south.
Sunday 22/10/23 As low pressure weakens across western Europe and the UK so a rather weak frontal system continues to persist over the UK, with light rain in places during the day, and thick cloud over much of the country. Just about anywhere could see some spots of rain although mostly light. Sunny spells should be sporadic with most places sitting under the thick cloud. Less mild with highs of 11 to 15C.
Monday 23/10/23 The possibility of a trough bringing some heavy rain to parts of England and Wales on Monday, pushing north and east throughout the day. At this stage a drier day possible in Northern Ireland and Scotland. Highs of 11 to 15C once more.
Tuesday 24/10/23 A respite in rainfall looks possible on Tuesday with plenty of cloud once again across the country with a few possible sunny spells in the afternoon in southern England and Wales. Highs of 10 to 14C.
