Persistent rain and a driving easterly wind across north and northeast Scotland
Persistent spells of heavy rain push back across north and east Scotland through the morning, with northwestern areas likely to see rain here too. Patchy rain across England, some heavier bursts, though further west should be largely dry with some developing sunny spells.
Rain stays heavy and persistent across northeast and north Scotland with a strong and blustery easterly wind through the afternoon. Rain slowly clears from the west across southeastern areas. Other than a few scattered showers elsewhere it will be mainly dry afternoon with sunny spells.
Overnight, rain gradually eases across north and east Scotland with outbreaks of rain affecting western areas here. Largely dry with clear spells elsewhere, though some showers on to western coasts and hills across the UK. A colder night for most.
