A risk of flooding before becoming drier, turning colder for all
A wet few days ahead especially across southern Ireland, England and Wales with a risk of flooding where fronts become slow moving. At the present time the heaviest rain is expected in Wales and parts of the northern Midlands although this could change. Then a dramatic change to colder conditions. Showers through Saturday and a few on Sunday before drier next week.

Friday 13/10/23 Rain moves across Wales and the Midlands during the early morning, clearing eastwards by lunchtime with clearer and fresher conditions through the afternoon. A colder day across Scotland with scattered showers on a northwesterly flow with sunshine inbetween. Temperatures 8 to 12C in the north. 12 to 15C in the south.
Saturday 14/10/23 A brighter day across much of the UK on Saturday with a cold northwesterly flow bringing showers to Scotland, possibly wintry on hills. Otherwise feeling autumnal with lengthy spells of sunshine for most. Temperatures 6 to 9C across Scotland, 11 to 14C in the south.
Sunday 15/10/23 Higher pressure for most areas through Sunday as a mid atlantic ridge builds across all areas. Plenty of sunshine once again in the south with some scattered showers continuing across Scotland. A cooler day once more with highs of possibly just 6 to 10C across Scotland, 10 to 12C in the south.
Monday 16/10/23 A fair day again as high pressure centres over the UK, with temperatures possibly a little higher across the south. Good spells of sunshine for most with some mist or fog patches possible in the morning. Less showers than Sunday in the northwest. Highs of 9 to 12C in Scotland, 11 to 15C in the south.
Tuesday 17/10/23 High pressure moves slightly further northwest during Tuesday, with a possibly cooler flow into Scotland again. Mostly dry with some good sunny spells widely. Temps 8 to 12C.
Wednesday 18/10/23 Some showers possibly in the west as low pressure tries to build in, with a strengthening breeze. Cloudier for many at times. Temps 8 to 14C.
