An unsettled week with low pressure bringing strong winds and heavy rain at times

Low pressure is going to be remaining close by through this week bringing cloud and periods of rain. The rain could be heavy at times and with low pressure being slow moving there is a risk of some further flooding. Temperatures will be close to average for the time of year although feeling cool in the wind.

Wednesday 25/10/23
A large area of low pressure west of Ireland brings heavy rain and strong winds into Ireland, Wales and southwest England on Wednesday morning. This spreads east into the Midlands and southern England as well as northwest England in the afternoon. Probably staying drier in northern and eastern areas although with cloud and a few spots of rain in eastern Scotland.best sunshine in western Scotland. Turning windier in the west as well. Highs at 10 to 14C.

Thursday 26/10/23
Low pressure is again in control of conditions through Thursday. Showers in the west and south, heaviest and most frequent through southern counties of England. Rain in Scotland with some of it heavy in the east which could add to flooding problems here. Probably drier in northwestern Scotland. Highs at 10C in northern Scotland, 14C in southern England.

Friday 27/10/23
Low pressure over Ireland again on Friday. These gives a day of further showers, heavy and frequent in the west and south but making their way inland too. Further heavy showers in central and eastern Scotland. Brighter for western Scotland. Tops at 11 to 14C.

Saturday 28/10/23
A complex area of low pressure affects the British Isles on Saturday. Some of the showers will be heavy, especially in the south. Further showers or rain in the far north of Scotland. Tops at 10C in northern Scotland, 13C in southern England.

Sunday 29/10/23
Low pressure is over Ireland on Sunday and brings very unsettled conditions. Strong winds and heavy rain may affect many areas, mostly in Ireland and the west of the British isles, although rain in eastern areas too. Highs at 9 to 14C.

Monday 30/10/23
The area of low pressure drifting into Scotland on Monday. Staying unsettled with heavy showers, most west and south where there will be heavy, thundery and persistent. Tops of 9 to 12C.
