Becoming very warm by the end of the week, rain, wind and cloud west and north

Mixed conditions for the next few days with wet and windy weather affecting northern and western areas at times. Turning very warm in the east and southeast for a while too. The potential for some cooler weather early next week as low pressure settles north of Scotland.

Thursday 5/10/23
High pressure to the south of the country with low pressure to the west. Rain, some of it heavy passing through Ireland with outbreaks of rain in western Wales and western Scotland as well as northwest England. Staying warm and brighter in southern and eastern England although always a fair amount of cloud. Low cloud and mist or fog afecting western coasts and hills too. Winds in Ireland. Highs at 14 to 18C.

Friday 6/10/23
A broad southwest flow over the British Isles on Friday. Rain and cloud for Ireland and much of Wales, northern England and Scotland, some of the rain being heavy. Becoming muggy but drier to the south with some fog over western coasts and hills. Drier and brighter in northern Scotland although rain here in the evening. Windy in the west too. Highs at 22C in southern England, 14C in northern Scotland.

Saturday 7/10/23
High pressure remains south of the country through Saturday. A fine day for many areas and becoming very warm too. Some drizzle and low cloud could affect the coasts of western Ireland and western Scotland. Breezy north and west too. Highs at 26C in southeast England, 14C in northwest Scotland and 23C in Ireland.

Sunday 8/10/23
Fine and very warm again for many areas. A front brings cloud and rain into Scotland and Ireland, this reaching northwest England. Dry in other areas. Highs at 25C in eastern England, 16C in western Scotland and 22C in Ireland.

Monday 9/10/23
Low pressure north of Scotland with a ridge of high pressure building to the south. Dry in many parts of southern Ireland, England and Wales. Some showers could affect northern and western Scotland, a few in northwest England. gales in Scotland. Highs at 22C in southern England, 12C in northern Scotland.

Tuesday 10/10/23
Low pressure remains to the north of Scotland. Higher pressure to the south bringing fair day to much of England and Wales, Strong winds in northern England, Scotland and Ireland with rain, mostly western Scotland and northern parts of Ireland. Gales in northern areas. Highs at 12 to 22C.
