Rain and showers, cooler for a time before turning milder in the south middle of next week
Turning more showery and cooler into the weekend and next week as low pressure continues to dominate the weather. Storm Ciaran will pass through Thursday although still brings rain to some on Friday. It may turn milder by the middle of next week, especially in southern areas.

Saturday 4/11/23 Pressure is low across the British Isles on Saturday. A further area of low pressure crosses southern parts of England bringing rain and a cold day through Wales, central, southern and eastern England. The rain could be heavy at times and may lead to further local flooding. Turning drier and brighter from the west in the afternoon. Northern England, Scotland and most of Ireland should be drier and brighter with sunny spells but also a scattering of showers, perhaps turning more persistent in eastern Scotland later. Highs at just 8C in the Midlands, 11C in southern England, 9C in northern Scotland.
Sunday 5/11/23 A complex low pressure area is extending through the country again, centred over Scotland. This brings a bright day for Sunday with sunny spells. Showers and more cloud in western Scotland, northwest England and western Wales as well as western Ireland. The best sunshine in eastern and southern areas of England. Breezy too. Highs at 8 to 12C.
Monday 6/11/23 Low pressure north of Scotland on Monday bringing another showery day in western areas. The best of any sunshine and fewer showers in the east. Windy for all. Showers in the west could merge into longer periods of rain through Ireland and then into the west of England, Wales and Scotland. Highs at 8 to 11C.
Tuesday 7/11/23 Showery again for western areas on Tuesday with low pressure to the north. The showers could be heavy and prolonged at times. Fewer showers in the east ad south. Breezy again in the south. Temperatures reaching 7 to 11C.
Wednesday 8/11/23 A weak ridge of high pressure may build through Wednesday. This brings a fair day with sunny spells, although still a few showers could affect northern areas. Highs at 9 to 12C.
Thursday 9/11/23 A ridge of high pressure affects much of England and Wales. Some cloud in western areas, a risk of drizzle in west Wales. Cloudier skies for northwest England, Scotland and Northern Ireland with some rain for northwest Scotland and Northern Ireland. Tops at 9 to 14C.
