Localised flooding in Wales
Good morning,
Friday morning brings heavy and persistent rain over central England and Wales, causing localised flooding. A band of rain sweeping over the south of England. Thick cloud and murky conditions for much of the UK and Ireland. A brighter and chillier start for those in northern Scotland.
In the afternoon, the rain clears over southern England, however, continued rainfall with heavy bursts over central England and Wales. Thick cloud over much of England and Wales, but much brighter in the north across Scotland and Ireland. Milder air in the south and chillier conditions across the north with a strong breeze.
In the evening, heavier rain redevelops across southern England, drier over Wales and central England, although some showers persist. Overnight, clearer skies and much drier across northern England, Scotland, and Ireland. Chilly and breezy for all, with a touch of frost in sheltered spots across the north. A dusting of snow over the Scottish mountain tops.
The weekend will be much chillier, with some passing showers on Saturday, and a much brighter day on Sunday.
