Breezy with rain in central and northern Scotland, drier and rather cloudy elsewhere and staying warm for many

However, persistent showers remain over northwest Scotland. Some drizzle over the far northwest of England as well as southern Scotland. A scattering of showers across Northern Ireland and a few spots of rain over central and southern Ireland. Some light drizzle is possible at first over the North York Moors. Elsewhere it should be dry with a fair amount of cloud and a few bright spells. Relatively breezy across England, Wales and Ireland, with stronger gales in Scotland.

A ridge of high pressure to the south of the UK, with warmer and drier weather, especially in the south-east, with some broken cloud, and more overcast conditions further to the west. A risk of a few spots of drizzle over western Wales this afternoon as rain pushes further south into central Scotland. Dry for most of Ireland wth sunny spells developing. Highs of 14C in northern Scotland, with much warmer temperatures of reaching 24C in East Anglia and southeast England.

Tonight is breezy in northern England, Scotland and Ireland. Increased cloud and rain in western Scotland and northwest Ireland, some of it heavy. A few spots of drizzle over west wales and northwest England and by morning rain becomes heavy in southern Ireland, northwest Wales and parts of northwest England. Drier to the south. Colder in Scotland with clear skies in central and northern areas but frequent showers in the far north.
