Showers north & west

A cold morning but a bright, one too. Lots of sunshine around and brisk north-westerly wind. There will be some showers across northern and western parts of Scotland, as well as the coast of Northwest England, northern and western Wales, one or two showers affecting the coast of Northern Ireland as well. Elsewhere, it will be dry with the best sunshine in the eastern south. The shower is starting to penetrate into the northern Midlands and further in land across north-west England through the late morning and into this afternoon. Further showers in northern and western Scotland, as well as the coast of Northern Ireland with the showers turning wintry over the highlands. Other areas are going to be dry with lots of sunshine. Highs at 8 to 13C.

Saturday Night
Clearer skies overnight tonight and dry in most areas. There will be further showers across northern and north-western Scotland with a few showers affecting northern and western parts of Wales as well. A chilly night under the clear skies with lowest temperatures of 0C in central Scotland, nearer 2 to 4C across central and southern England.

High pressure over the British Isles on Sunday. This brings lots of dry weather but also some morning mist and fog patches. These will be clearing away quickly to leave good spells of sunshine and dry conditions for most. Cloudy skies in central and northern Scotland, with some outbreaks of rain here, perhaps some cloud in the hills of northern Scotland, too. Cloud increases through the afternoon across western and southern areas, with the best sunshine in the east. Highs at 9 to 11C.

Pressure remains high on Monday and this allows for light winds and some morning mist and fog patches. These slowly lifting to leave a fair amount of cloud through Monday of the most of England and Wales. Some brighter skies for central and eastern Scotland as well as the north and west of Ireland. However, a few showers could affect a northern and western Scotland with a risk of some spots of drizzle over the high ground of England and Wales. An increasing chance of some drizzle also affecting south-western coasts of England, and southern coast of Ireland. Highs at 9 to 13C.
