Autumn Skies and Pumpkin Pies.
Good morning,
Wrap up warm this morning as Sunday morning will be the chilliest of the autumn so far, with frost possible in sheltered valleys of Northern England and Scotland. An area of high pressure will drift over England as the day progresses, ensuring settled conditions for most. Any early fog will soon clear, leaving a mostly sunny day for most, perfect for a long walk and an afternoon cuppa! Watch out for a few light showers in North Wales and Northern Scotland, with a dusting of snow on the highest peaks.
The afternoon will remain mostly fine with plenty of glorious autumnal sunshine. Light showers will tend to diminish in North Wales, becoming confined to the far north of Scotland and the Northern Isles. Cloudier skies will move into Devon and Cornwall. Winds will generally be light compared to Saturday. Highs will be around 7-9C in the North and 10-12C in the South.
The evening will stay settled, leaving a clear night, except in North and West Scotland and Southwest England, where cloud cover associated with a low pressure system to the Southwest will try to make inroads. Winds will be light and temperatures will drop to between 0-5C widely, dipping below freezing in sheltered spots in the North. Watch out for fog patches in sheltered inland locations.
