Showers in the north and west with the best sunshine in Scotland, then rain tonight The morning of Halloween starts off very fittingly, with some mist and fog patches, which will then clear as the day progresses. Showery rain across parts of Wales, with some heavy pulses, particularly to the west and south coasts. The eastern coast of Ireland will also experience some heavy outbursts of rain early on, with some patchy showers further inland. Some showers are also expected along the southern coast of England, and overcast skies across central England and the Midlands. Rain and drizzle edges into northern England. Drier and brighter across Scotland with the best sunshine here. In the afternoon, some showers spreading across central England and the Midlands, turning heavy at times. Some patchy showers in northern England, with a fair amount of cloud for all. The best sunshine again in central and northern Scotland. Rain, some of it heavy arriving in southwest England and southern Ireland later.
In the evening, the wind will pick up across the British Isles, with rain spreading across Ireland, England and Wales. This will turn heavier overnight, particularly over Ireland and parts of northern England and eventually southern Scotland. Northern Scotland stays dry.
