Issued: 0530hrs Friday 27th October 2023 Duty forecaster: Andy Chaloner
Showery rain at times today.
Showers prevalent in many parts of the UK on Friday, but most persistent across Welsh coasts, and across Central and Eastern Scotland with less showers across the Midlands and Southeast, with early morning mist and fog here giving way to sunny spells.
Showers merge into longer spells of rain across eastern Scotland with some heavy bursts possible in the afternoon. Showers continue on western coasts of England and Wales too, with some rumbles of thunder possible. Dry with some sunny spells across eastern and southern England. Highs of 11C in Scotland, 15C in southern England.
Showers persist overnight for many, these most frequent along western coasts. Scotland sees further showers along the eastern and northern coasts although drier and clearer inland. A breezy night should reduce the risk of a frost.
