Mostly dry, plenty of cloud although some rain in the far south later, wetter in Ireland

A dry morning for much of the United Kingdom to starts the week. There is a fair amount of cloud and it does feel autumnal. Some bright spells in northern and eastern Scotland. Wetter in Ireland where a band of rain is becoming heavy at times in central areas.

This afternoon sees some thicker coud arriving in southern England with rain soon onto the south coasts by mid-afternoon. This edges north into much of southern England by late afternoon. Further rain in Ireland, spreading to southwest England and southwest Wales. Staying mostly dry elsewhere although a few spots of rain are possible in the east.

Overnight rain will be edging north through central and eastern areas, reaching northern England. Further rai in eastern Ireland, Wales and southwest England. A few spots of rain in eastern Scotland but dry in the west. Some brighter skies in western Ireland.
