Wet in south with strengthening, blustery winds throughout.

During the morning, rain will arrive from the southwest, locally heavy, and slowly pushing northwards into Wales and the Midlands by the afternoon. The rain will be accompanied by a strengthening breeze. A dry but cloudy start across Scotland where winds will strengthen to gale force.

Winds also strengthen across the rest of the country during the afternoon. It will still remain largely dry across much of Scotland while heavy and persistent rain affect the Midlands and north Wales, clearing the far south for a time.

During the evening and overnight rain will move northwards across Northern Ireland and the north of England where it will continue to be windy while patchy rain moves in southern counties. A mild night for many, lows of just 10 to 14C widely
