John: much of the rain has now cleared and the strong winds have moderated. It does turn settled from mid week but first we'll see another strong low pressure area moving up into southern England tomorrow which will produce heavy rain and strong winds.

John: Storm Angus is moving up through the channel producing wind gusts up to 70 mph around exposed coasts of the south east with possible disruption this morning before lessening by afternoon. Very windy across the southern half of England and Wales with outbreaks of moderate to heavy rain. Snow is possible over the Welsh Hills and the southern Pennines for a time. Cold and frosty to start the day across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Mainly dry here with some sunshine
