Issued: 0530hrs Monday 7 November 2016 Duty forecaster: John Ejdowski
The beginning of this week starts as the last finished. We keep a cold north wind across the country today with plenty of showers across eastern parts of England and Scotland. A line of showers too across south west Wales into Cornwall. Most other areas should be essentially dry with sunnier spells. Across the Highlands the showers will fall as snow. Expect maximums temperatures 5 to 8 Celsius but feeling colder in that wind.
During the evening and night further showers are expected across North Sea coasts and Cornwall. Elsewhere it's dry with clear spells. As the winds fall light it will allow a widespread frost to develop overnight. Another cold night to come. Expect minimum temperatures of 3 to -4 Celsius.
If you are heading abroad Europe is looking cold with snow across Scandinavia and heavy rain across south east Europe.
