Ice risk this morning
Good morning,
A mix of sunshine and showers across the country today. Expect a chilly feel where exposed to the north-westerly breeze.
Watch out for icy patches this morning in north-eastern areas where showers have fallen overnight, and across hilly regions where there is snow cover.
Showers will tend to cluster together, resulting in some locally frequent rain, particularly around coasts in the west, north & east, whilst some will extend all the way across the Midlands into East Anglia.
Some places may escape dry most or all day - favoured spots will include central-southern England, mid-south Wales, much of central Scotland and the Borders.
Today's top temperatures will be just 6 to 9C for most, but locally up to 12C in the south-west. Feeling cooler in the wind.
It will drop cold tonight under clearing skies and lighter winds. Expect temperatures to drop widely below freezing. Staying chilly during Friday.
Have a great day. Garry
