Rain and drizzle but mild

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 14 November 2016
Duty forecaster: John Ejdowski

After the chilly weekend, it's becoming much milder heading into the early part of the week but don't expect much sunshine. Today is a cloudy day with a good deal of mist over the hills in the north and the west. Western areas will be prone to drizzly bits of rain. Rain will be more steady across western Scotland. In the afternoon we may see another area of heavier rain develop across the East Midlands which runs in across East Anglia. Expect maximums temperatures 11 to 15 Celsius.

Quite a windy evening across the far north with gales. Persistent rain across East Anglia and south east will be clearing away during the evening leaving a dry night. A misty, murky night with drizzle in the west. An area of rain across north west Scotland spreads into Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and northern England in the night. Expect minimum temperatures of 5 to 9 Celsius.

If you are heading abroad western Europe will become more settled. Eastern regions will be coldest with rain, sleet and snow.
