South-east dry until late afternoon
Good morning,
Low pressure moves to the north of Britain today, which is the system that brought snow to the USA, but for the UK brings rain and gales.
The heaviest rain and strongest winds affect the west & north-west, setting in over many hours, and may give some localised surface flooding. Rain spreads across the Midlands & south into the afternoon, but becomes patchy toward the south-east.
Wind gusts reaching 40 to 50mph inland for central & southern England, but likely 60mph in north & west, or locally over 70mph around exposed western coasts and over Snowdonia & the Pennines in the morning, then easing.
Another batch of rain arrives overnight into Wednesday. It remains fairly mild, today's temperatures for most will rise to around 10 to 12C.
Have a great day. Garry
