A raw day with cloud, rain, sleet and snow
Good morning,
I hope you have your coasts and scarves ready because the weather is giving us a taste of winter for the rest of this week. Low pressure is in control of conditions and is centred to the east of the country. This is giving a brisk northwesterly wind, which has cloud, rain, sleet and snow trapped within it.
This morning brings rain, sleet and snow to much of Wales. These affecting Northern Ireland and northwest England too. Further wintry showers for western parts of Scotland. Drier and brighter in the east and south.
This afternoon will be feeling raw across the Midlands and Wales as well as much of northern England. Further snow showers around the coasts of Scotland. Drier to the far south of England. The best of any sunshine in the southwest of England and Ireland.
