More rain Scotland

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 7th January 2016
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Yet more rain in eastern Scotland, becoming brighter elsewhere

Good morning,

A wet morning for much of Scotland. yet more rain falling in the east, and this will be turning more persistent through the day. Flooding problems are likely to be enhanced by this additional rainfall.

Wet in northern England at first too, and there will be rain in Wales. This should be fading as the morning progresses with sunny spells then developing, although showers may persist in Wales and southwest England for a time.

This afternoon sees southern Scotland becoming drier, and apart from isolated showers in west Wales and western England, most of the rest of the mainland should be dry with sunny spells. Showers affecting Northern Ireland throughout.
