Sunny spells
Dry all day south & east

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 28th January 2016
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Rain developing in north-west

Good morning,

It's a brighter day for most across England and Wales, with some sunshine, the best of this in the east.

Cloud will thicken from the west, with spots of rain around western coasts and hills turning more persistent into the afternoon and evening, particularly in western Scotland.

A brisk south-westerly wind will freshen through the day, toward gale force in the north-west.

After a cool start, today's temperatures will be lower than previous days, highs typically 7 to 9C.

Have a great day.
Garry
