Morning Call - January 02, 2016
Rain or showers
Persistently wet for some

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 2nd January 2016
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Strong winds coastal areas

Good morning,

Low pressure is across the country today, so that means some heavy bursts of rain and gusty winds for many areas.

The strongest winds will affect southern coastal counties of England, gusts over 50mph in exposed spots. Eastern Scotland will also see strong winds, bringing rain in from the North Sea.

The showers will tend to cluster together, so some places may see rain rarely cease for many hours, with Wales, the south & south-west looking wettest. Central and eastern counties will see showers, but some brighter intervals.

Fairly mild on the thermometer, temperatures across the UK today between 7 and 11C, but feeling cool in the wind.

Have a great day.
Garry
