Morning Call - January 15, 2016
Sunshine, snow showers
Biting cold wind

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 15th January 2016

Widespread hard frosts this weekend

Good morning,

It's a cold and frosty start for many, so watch out for ice on untreated surfaces.

There will be plenty of sunshine today, but it will feel bitter where exposed to the north-westerly wind. Inland central regions of Britain stay dry overall, whilst showers affect coasts in the west and north, locally also in the east.

Snow and hail will fall to low levels giving local accumulations. A few bands of snow showers are also likely to advance from the Irish Sea into the Midlands.

Daytime temperatures between 2 and 5C for most, but feeling sub-zero in the wind. Tonight will drop widely below freezing, locally -5C in rural parts, or -10C in the Scottish Highlands.

Have a great day.
Garry
