A cold week with widespread forst and a risk of some rain, sleet and snow showers

A cold week ahead with a risk of some rain, sleet and snow at times. There will be dry days too, although severe and widespread overnight frosts. A risk of some freezing fog too which may be slow to clear. Sunday presents the risk of some more widespread sleet and rain with a risk of snow in the north.

Saturday 2/12/23
Another cold day with some snow showers in northern Scotland. Further wintry showers later in western parts of Ireland. There is a risk of a wintry shower clipping eastern coasts of England. Overall it should be dry with sunny spells and feeling cold for all. A widespread frost in the morning. Highs near 2 to 4C.


 

Sunday 3/12/23
A small area of low pressure may cross Ireland, England and Wales on Sunday. This brings some rain, sleet and snow with it. Most of the snow over high ground of Wales and northern England, sleety elsewhere. Brighter in Scotland with a few snow showers north and east. Cold for all with highs near 1 to 3C. Frost is widespread in the morning.


 

Monday 4/12/23
Another cold day with pressure being low overall. A few snow showers in northern and eastern Scotland. Some cloud and a chance of sleety rain affecting southern coasts of England. The risk of some morning fog elsewhere, this freezing oin places and being slow to clear. Highs near 1 to 3C with a widespread morning frost.


 

Tuesday 5/12/23
A ridge of higher pressure may build on Tuesday. Morning mist and fog is likely and will again be slow to clear. There is a risk of some drizzle here and there as well as morning frost. Tending to be rather murky during the day. Highs at 1 to 3C.

Wednesday 6/12/23
Lower pressure west of Ireland on Wednesday. This is going to be bringing increasing winds, gales in the west. Rain in western areas may become heavy. Drier in the east. Cold in the wind with highs at 3 to 7C.

Thursday 7/12/23
A windy day with periods of rain. Some of the rain could be heavy at times. Winds could reach gale force. Highs at 6 to 11C.
